Gaachhkouto is an indispensable accessory of a Bengali bride.
She has to carry it till the time she enters the house of her in-laws after her wedding.
It is a red coloured pot filled with sindoor(vermilion) and a rupor coin (silver coin).
Goddess Lakshmi is also seen carrying this pot along with cowrie shells and paddy.
It symbolises wealth and prosperity of the newly wed couple in their married life.
This gach kouto is decorated with colorful stone work and mirrors. Which makes it more gorgeous. Available in two sizes. Small (Approx 6.5 inches) and Medium (Approx 8 inches).
